PRIVACY POLICY
Your face is personal.
So is our approach.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Castilho Enterprises (“Muse,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Muse mobile application, this website, and related support services (together, the “Services”). Muse lets you use a portrait and a reference image to explore hair and makeup looks.
Your photos are used to create the look you request. Temporary generation uploads are removed from our working storage after processing. A result enters your private Lookbook only when you choose to save it.
2. Information we collect
Photos and creative content
We process the portrait and reference images you select, your choices to apply hair, makeup, or both, generated results, look names, favorites, and other actions needed to provide the Studio and Lookbook. Facial landmarks and regions may be analyzed during generation to align a look. Muse does not use this analysis to verify your identity or create a persistent facial-recognition profile.
Account information
Muse can create a private guest account. If you link an account, we receive identifiers from your chosen sign-in provider, such as Apple or Google, along with the Firebase account identifier used to protect your balance and saved looks. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.
Purchases and credits
We process subscription status, purchase and transaction identifiers, entitlements, credit balances, and credit usage. Apple or Google handles payment-card information; Muse does not receive full card details.
Technical and support information
We process app version, generation and request identifiers, timestamps, status and error details, usage counts, and security records. If you contact support, we receive your email address, message, and anything you choose to include. Our website host may process IP address, browser, device, and request data needed to deliver and secure the site.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create the hair and makeup result you request;
- authenticate accounts and protect saved looks and credits;
- deliver purchases, subscriptions, and credit balances;
- save, display, rename, favorite, or delete Lookbook items at your direction;
- operate, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Services;
- respond to support and privacy requests; and
- comply with law and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your photos for targeted advertising. Data sent through the OpenAI API is not used to train OpenAI models by default, as described in OpenAI’s business data privacy commitments.
5. Storage and retention
On your device
Muse remembers the local paths to your selected portrait and reference image so they can reopen in the Studio. The in-app “Forget selected photos” control clears those references but does not delete the original files from your photo library.
Generation files
Portrait and reference uploads are removed from temporary working storage after a generation finishes, fails, or is cancelled. Generated results and related generation records may be retained to deliver results, maintain account and credit history, prevent abuse, and support the Service until you delete your account or they are no longer reasonably needed.
Saved Lookbook
Looks you explicitly save are kept in private Firebase Storage until you delete an individual look, delete all saved looks, or delete your Muse account.
Deletion safeguards
Account deletion removes account information, saved looks, generated images, generation history, credits, and linked purchase profiles where supported. Muse retains a one-way, non-reversible eligibility marker to prevent repeated claims of one-time welcome credits. We may also retain limited records when required by law, to resolve disputes, or to protect the Service.
6. International processing and security
Muse and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers. We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information, receive a portable copy, or withdraw consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
You can act directly in Muse:
- forget selected photos from Photos & privacy;
- delete individual looks or all saved looks;
- unlink or sign out of an account; and
- delete your account from Profile → Account.
You may also email us. We may need to verify your request. If you use an authorized agent, we may ask for proof of their authority. Muse does not currently use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or sell or share it for that purpose.
8. Children
Muse is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it. If local law requires a higher age for independent consent, a parent or guardian must authorize use of the Services.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Muse evolves. We will post the new version here and update its effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where required.
